THE CHALLENGE

Parfumado had built a fast-growing subscription business across five European countries, but their data hadn't kept pace. Insights were stitched together manually from backend systems, marketing tools, and payment providers. A time consuming process with unreliable results.

They had been relying on an external data partner that wasn't delivering. The plan was to bring everything in-house, but they didn't yet have the people or the technical foundation to do it. Marketing, Finance, and Operations were each flying blind in their own way.

They needed someone who could build the foundation fast, make it reliable from day one, and structure it so it wouldn't require a large internal team to maintain.

Build what you need and scale gradually

Together with Parfumado's management board, we mapped out the key decisions each department needed to support. We built the data platform around those needs, not around technical ambition.

Our working principles throughout the project:

  • Listen to business owners to separate real needs from nice-to-haves

  • Get one department right before starting the next

  • Never compromise on testing, reliability is non-negotiable

  • Enable self-service analytics wherever possible

Adhering to these principles we managed to radically transform the way data was used within the company.

We stayed on to help build an internal data team that could carry the platform forward independently.
